My persuasion can build a nation
You'll do anything for me
Emma woke up to muffled giggling and she smiled. She took her time waking up, stretching as wonderful smells came wafting in through the partially opened door. She finally got up and went into the bathroom to wash her face and gargle mouthwash before coming out of the room.
Seeing Leah and Nora dancing and hearing the humming from the kitchen widened her smile. Leah caught sight of her and her eyes widened. "Mama!" she squealed before pelting towards her, wrapping her arms around Emma's leg. "Did you sleep here?" She asked, looking up at her mother. Emma nodded, ruffling her baby's hair. "What are you guys up to?" She asked, picking Leah up to give her a kiss on the cheek before depositing her on the ground again to turn to Nora with a smile. She reached out and stroked the young girl's hair, feeling just slightly awkward and wondering whether she was okay with the arrangement.
Looking up at the kitchen, her eyes settled on Elliot and the smile softened. He was a sight for sore eyes.

Death of a Bachelor
Happily ever after, a lifetime of laughter
Elliot's eyes lifted when he heard Emma enter the living room. He glanced at Nora to gauge her reaction and she must have felt the eyes on her because she looked at him first before turning to Emma and smiling, "We've watched cartoons for a bit, but I wanted Leah to be part of our morning singalong session. Dad always lets me put on music in the morning when he's making breakfast. But he has a strict policy on which music gets played. Sinatra is okay, Billy Joel, obviously," She trailed off and looked back at Elliot with a cheeky grin.
He still wondered what in his life had led him to have such a cool kid. There wasn't anything he'd have changed about her, even if she did ramble a lot. He supposed she picked that up from him. "We take our morning singalong sesh very seriously," Elliot nodded. He started transferring the food onto larger serving dishes and set it all up at the kitchen table that was just in the corner of the kitchen. After everything was situated he bit his lip and gave a final nod.
"Alright, kiddos, choccy milk or some good ol' OJ? Or better yet, water, eh?" Elliot's eyes were on Nora when he said the last option and he guessed her reaction immediately. The girl turned her nose up and scrunched her face.
"C'mon Dad, we've got company, spring for the good stuff! Chocolate milllllkkkkk," She exclaimed in a low and hoarse voice, like a WWE wrestler. He palmed his face and laughed. There wasn't much room for argument. "Can Leah have chocolate milk, too, Emma?"

Nora seemed to gloss over the fact that Emma was there and the older woman visibly relaxed. Emma quickly joined the conversation, nodding and laughing at Nora's jabbering. "I can see that." She responded to Elliot as she picked Leah up when the girl kept clinging to her leg.
She brought her to where Elliot had laid the food. Emma laughed when Nora imitated a gruff man, with Leah tittering as she laid her head on Emma's chest. When Elliot asked whether Leah could have chocolate milk as well, Leah looked up at Emma, widening her eyes with a small smile on her face.
"Please?" She asked, tilting her head slightly to the side. Emma rolled her eyes and nodded. "Yeah, she can."
Leah bounced on her lap and gave her a tight hug. "Hey, why don't you sit with Nora, big girl?" Emma asked, looking down at Leah, stroking her thick dark hair. "You don't mind sitting with Leah, do you, Nora?"

Elliot gave an 'okay' sign and clicked his tongue as he got out the coveted chocolate milk. He'd raised Nora in such a way that he made sure she got the intake of good stuff that she needed, but he had always been the cool parent that kept sweets and things in the house, too. He set the two cups by the girls before pouring himself a cup of coffee, "Em, you want coffee or something else? I think we can spare some more chocolate milk if you're interested." He smiled and brought the mug to his lips, cringing at the steam against his face.
Nora held her arms up, "Nope! Not at all. I'd be totally cool with that. C'mere Leah." At that Elliot had to smile again. The enthusiasm which Nora took to the younger girl was infectious and he couldn't help but feel good about the way things were going. His kid wasn't even phased by his girlfriend staying the night. And she'd been hell bent on keeping him away from girls for years.
He brought over the last of the food and rested his hands on his daughter's shoulders, "Alright. We've got pancakes, we've got scrambled eggs, bacon and fried potatoes. Take your pick, and don't worry about pigging out. There's plenty." He kissed the top of her head and she started going for the food almost immediately.

Leah normally didn't mind the good stuff Emma gave her in lieu of junk food but she was a sucker for chocolate. And Emma was a sucker for the girl's big brown eyes that she often gave in to the girl's whims. But Leah was such a good kid despite her shitty parents and Emma would forever be grateful for it.
When Elliot brought her back to the present, Emma shook her head with a smile. "Water's fine." She responded, laughing a little when Leah scrunched her nose up at her choice. "Yes yes, I'm a boring mom. Deal with it." She nuzzled Leah's neck, causing the girl to erupt in giggles before jumping out of Emma's lap to rush over to Nora's side. She used Nora's help to get on the chair. She was barely able to look over the table but she didn't mind.
With the food all out, Emma smiled and turned her head up to look at Elliot, gesturing for him to sit. "Everything looks so good." She scooped some up for Leah before she did the same for herself.
Briefly, she was glad that Nicky wasn't around to see how ridiculously domestic she felt. She wouldn't be able to live it down if he was. Honestly though, she couldn't help but feel ridiculously happy that, even if it was for a brief moment, this was her life.

Death of a Bachelor

With a nod, he grabbed a glass from the cupboard and got what she asked for. With his back turned, he couldn't help but smile at the sounds behind him. It was familiar in some regard, but it was something he hadn't heard in a long time. He almost forgot what it felt like to have a full family, and while this wasn't quite like that, it was close enough for him to take the comfort as it came. Emma was the only person in the last ten years that he'd cared enough for to welcome into his home and into his already established life. To let into his daughter's life.
He turned back around once he was sure that his smile didn't look too creepy and he set the water down in front of her. She gestured for him to sit and he squeezed his daughter's shoulders once more before taking the last seat at the table. He couldn't help but watch the three of them. It was just so comforting to see Nora surrounded by people she obviously adored. She was a generally happy kid, he'd made sure that he did what he could for her, but this was a different level of happiness he'd seen. It was the same happiness that was reflected in him.
Elliot started dishing out food, poking his fork at Nora when she cut him off to get potatoes. She snorted and waved her hand at him, "Wait your turn!" He laughed and leaned back.
With all of the food dished, he glanced up at Emma and grinned.
