Waiting Game
I wish I was in love
Pushing herself up from the couch, she nodded, not really sure what else to say. Of course she knew where his room was, he was staying in her house. The lower level had three bedrooms while the upper level had the master suite that remained untouched and three other bedrooms, one of which was her own and another her brother's although he never came home to sleep in it.
Charlotte led him through the lower level of the house and to the first bedroom they came across. It was one of the bigger bedrooms on the lower level, but it was stark and empty of anything personal. They'd considered decorating it a few times, but couldn't agree on a theme they liked and after the Spencer parents died, Will and Charlotte had ignored the rest of the house. It was too big anyway, nobody needed that many rooms. She opened the door and gestured to it, "There ya go. Everything is empty, the dressers and closet. If you want different linens and things, there's a closet just outside the hall."
She stepped back and out of the way, her arms returning to fold across her torso.
But I don't wanna cause any pain

I'm so caught up

He followed Charlotte, his eyes taking in every little detail of the place as he walked past. They kept silent until they arrived at his new quarters. It was as big as his entire apartment and because of it's minimalism, it seemed much larger than it probably actually was.
He stepped in and placed his briefcase on the bed before he turned to face her. "Thank you, Char." He gave her a smile, still itching to be more formal. "I'm sorry, but is it okay if I call you Charlotte?"
But it seems she got me twisted

Waiting Game
I wish I was in love
Her face remained stoic when he smiled, and while she knew her frustration and anger wasn't on him, she couldn't quite shake it off. There were serious words that she was going to have to have with her brother. If not about this, than about the fact that he'd been leaving her more and more every day. It was starting to feel like he was just a ghost running the company and that she didn't actually have any family left. But she remained quiet about her thoughts. It wasn't really something she wanted to spout off about.
His question made her eyes lift to his and Charlotte shrugged, "Yeah, whatever. Call me what you want. Do you need me for anything else?" Because it would have just been easier to go back up to her room and scream or cry or whatever happened. She couldn't express what she felt in front of a total stranger. She had a feeling her attitude now was going to affect his impression of her further, but she figured she'd already made a bad one, what did it matter?

Her dismissive tone rubbed Hunter the wrong way but he kept his thoughts to himself. Because he knew her pissiness wasn't directed at him. It was directed to two other people and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it because they had his life in their hands.
"No. Thank you, Charlotte. I look forward to babysitting you." He said with a hint of teasing in his tone.
