The Monster
Everything I touch isn't dark enough
Contentedly watching his daughter sleep, Will felt more at peace in that moment than he had when she was looking at him. Of course he wanted her to see him and know that he was there, but he also didn't want her to be afraid and that was all he'd seen. He wished he could stroke her hair, or wrap his arms around her, but instead he settled for sitting on the bed beside her as she slept.
He'd drifted towards his old bedroom where Cassidy was sleeping after a while and remained there until the next morning. Will went back to Rose's room just before her alarm went off and he took notice that she was awake. She couldn't see him and that made him a little uncomfortable, but he settled himself on her bed again when she went to begin getting ready. He waited for a long while, he felt, before she turned to look around and asked for him. Will pushed off away from the wall he'd moved to and knelt down in front of her, "I'm here, baby. Just like I told you I'd be."

Memories of a life that's been loved
The sudden shift and appearance of her father surprised her but she smiled when he spoke. "I thought yesterday was a dream." She shook her head before reaching out and ran her hand along the side of Will's face. She still couldn't actually feel him but he was there. Her heart was filled with the love she always had for her father and there was a calm that settled around her knowing he was actually there.
She finished putting on her socks before grabbing her bag.
"Should I tell Mama about you?" Rose asked, fiddling with her bag straps before slinging it over her shoulders. "How do I even tell her?" She shook her head.

The Monster
Everything I touch isn't dark enough
The knowledge that he was no longer just a looming figure in the background was comforting. That it had happened twice and after she was fully awake was even more of a relief. She was a mutant, she had to be. The ability she had could lead to something so much better later down the road. If she could see him and hear him, with a little training, what was keeping her from being able to touch him too? Or make others be able to see and hear him? Will knew he was getting ahead of himself, but watching her reach out to touch his face had his mind racing with possibilities of the future. He missed them so much and this could almost make it better. Even post-mortem.
Will smiled and watched as she prepared to leave, but his eyebrows pulled together in response to her questions. Cassidy had a very open mind, far more than he ever had. Certainly in a world like theirs, she would believe that it was a mutation rather than their daughter's overactive imagination. However, he didn't know a good way of bringing it up to her. He could always stand in the room and coach her through it, but that could hurt Cas more than help her understand. She still wouldn't be able to see him.
However, if she kept it a secret for too long, Cassidy would find out through the recruiters and would be heartbroken that their daughter didn't tell her. "I think you should. Your mother can take it, she's always been more open to these things than I ever was. If you need help, I'll be there and I can nudge you along. She'll understand though and it's better coming from you than one of the academy officials."

Memories of a life that's been loved
Thinking on it for a moment, Rose finally nodded at her father's words. "Okay. I'll tell her after-"
A knock came at the door and her mother came in. "Morning, love! I thought you'd still be in bed." She smiled before ushering Rose out the door. Rose panicked a little and turned to look at her father. "Um, Mama I forgot something. I'll meet you downstairs?"
Cassidy stopped and nodded. "Alright, not too long yeah? You don't want your breakfast hot, do you?"
Rose smiled and shook her head. "I won't be long." She waited until her mother had gone down before turning to Will.
"Um...I'll see you after school, Daddy." She fiddled with her bag strap and bit her lower lip, reluctant to leave her father. "What will you do until then?"

The Monster
Everything I touch isn't dark enough
Will folded his arms and watched as his wife came bustling into the room. He stepped back against the wall and did what he could to stay out of the way. Rose needed to focus and he didn't need to pose as a distraction anymore than he already was. It amused him watching the way she was rushing their little girl out the door.
When Rose turned back to look at him, he arched an eyebrow and looked up at his wife before she went down the stairs again. His daughter came back into the room and he stepped forward, kneeling down to her level, "Yes you will. I'll be here the moment you get back, I can assure you. My afterlife is quite boring when I don't have you to talk to." He gave her a grin and rubbed the back of his neck, contemplating how to answer the second part of her response, noting the way she lingered.
"I'll probably go haunt your uncle Gabriel while you're at school. You know, mess with him a bit just for laughs," He grinned wider and shrugged before gesturing towards the door. "Go on, love, you don't want to be late."

Memories of a life that's been loved
Her father's words made Rose nod and breathe a sigh of relief. She giggled at his remark before snorting at the thought of her uncle being freaked out by inanimate objects suddenly coming to life. Or something. She honestly didn't know what her father would do to her beloved uncle.
At Will's urging, however, Rose shook her head of the thought as she nodded and pulled her hair up in a half ponytail. "Okay. I'll see you later. Love you, Daddy." She beamed at him and rushed downstairs after one last look at him over her shoulder.
Her heart was calm and full knowing that he would be there when she got home. It may be completely absurd but she was just grateful for her ability. She just hoped her mother understood.
