With my feelings on fire
Guess I'm a bad liar
Once they were out of the ballroom, Cassidy could breathe easily. She let the tears fall and when Will asked her if she felt better, Cassidy wiped her tears and gave her boyfriend a genuinely happy smile. "Yeah. Tons." She let out a shuddering breath and continued to walk. She slipped her fingers through his and wiped away a few more tears that escaped. They weren't sad tears, that much she could tell. Because she was nowhere near sad. For the first time in the longest time, she was truly happy with someone.
"Will," she started, not entirely certain whether she should confess to him or not. It had been a challenge letting him know how she really felt about him and this was a lot bigger than just an I love you.
"You're sure that you feel the same about me...not just because it's the holidays right?" She finally said.

The Monster
Everything I touch isn't dark enough
He turned to look at her when he heard the tears in her voice. Once they were away from the ballroom, he stopped in the hall and stood in front of her when she began to speak. Something was wrong and he noticed that he'd read the situation wrong. Maybe she wasn't happy or she was having doubts about him or...hell, he couldn't figure it out off the top of his head what had changed her from laughing and having a good time to crying and not sounding very sure of herself.
The question caused him to pause, his hand still holding hers while his other hand stroked the ends of her hair while he waited. His expression became unreadable and he took a moment to process what she was saying and what he should say back. His immediate reaction was to be offended that she would think so lowly of him, for her to think that he only cared about her because he was wrapped in some bubble with people that he loved, he wasn't sure how to take that. It had been months though, since he'd really gotten angry with her and done something he regretted, he wasn't about to do it now. Not when she was standing there so...vulnerable. She was voicing all of the same insecurities that he had, and yet, she was the one asking him?
Will took a deep breath and shook his head, "I'll admit, I'm a little put off by that question. D'you really think of me like that? That I'd just string you along because I'm living out a fantasy where my life is better than it actually is?" He sighed and leaned his forehead against hers, his eyes sliding shut. With a quirk of his lips, he found himself remembering a quote from his favorite poet that he felt couldn't have better gone with how he was feeling. "'Dreams are true while they last, and do we not live in dreams?' You're my dream, Angel. And please don't ever repeat this to anyone who will use it against me, but you're everything I've ever hoped to find. You met me, you saw how awful I was, how miserable I was. Do you think that I ever had a thought that I'd be standing here now, smiling and laughing with the twins? That I'd finally feel peace rather than constant agitation from this monster that lies just beneath the skin? None of this would have happened without you. How can you think that these feelings I have are just surface deep? Because of a holiday?"
He reached up with the hand that was stroking her hair, and cupped her cheek, his thumb tracing over the cheekbone, "I can't remember the last time that I didn't hate my life, but now, I'd hate it more if it ended and took you away from me." Which was exactly what it was going to do, all too soon, but he kept that part to himself.

With my feelings on fire
Guess I'm a bad liar
Cassidy shook her head when Will asked her that question. It honestly had nothing to do with him and more to do with the fact that she didn't think of herself as the person someone loved in that way. Least of all Will. She wanted to argue but then she was struck by the words he chose to convey what he felt.
Will was stingy with his words; he didn't say much whenever they spoke. So when he said things like that, quoting his favourite poet at that, Cassidy felt like there was no way he wasn't telling her the truth. He wasn't just being charming.
The tears fell even more and she smiled, her heart squeezing in itself as goosebumps ran down her arms. She listened as he spoke and it made her heart ache in the best way.
Leaning into his touch, Cassidy closed her eyes and let his words wash over her. She was content. She believed him, there was just no way she couldn't. She curled her hands over his wrist and turned her face so she could kiss his pulse.
With a sigh, she wrapped her arms around Will's waist and buried her face in his chest. "Nobody's taking you away from me." She whispered.

The Monster
Everything I touch isn't dark enough
William could feel his heart quicken and he realized that it had been much easier to convey his feelings through the words of his favorite writer rather than the mainstream words that everyone used. Of course it felt nice to hear the three words everyone wished to hear from someone in their life, but to Will, it was much heavier to use something closer to what he knew. And the word love had escaped him for a long time.
He pressed his lips against the top of her head and breathed in her shampoo. His arms circled around her shoulders and he ran his fingers through her hair. Her words, although comforting, made him sick to his stomach. If it was only up to them. He'd been trying for years to find some way to slow it down, to make it stop altogether. There were no developments and no hope for him to stick around longer than what he had.
Will pulled away and lifted her chin up so that he could look at her, "I love you so much, Angel. And I'm not going anywhere for as long as I can help it." At least that wasn't a total lie. He kissed her nose and then her forehead.

She allowed him to lift her face and she looked into his blue eyes, her eyes shining with tears. She sighed softly, her breath shuddering slightly under the weight of the sob that wanted to escape.
The whole week here had been so much more than she anticipated. She didn't know how much more she could actually take without combusting.
She raised her hands to cup his cheeks and forced him to look at her as she tried to convey what she wanted through her eyes. She was nervous but she had never been sure about anything until then and there. Slowly, she raised herself on to the tips of her toes, maintaining eye contact before pressing her lips against his, softly at first.

The Monster
Everything I touch isn't dark enough
Her lips were soft against his own and he kept his arms wrapped tight around her waist. The proximity was doing nothing for the clarity of his thoughts. There was so much that had been said and so much that was still left unsaid, but he found it difficult to focus on anything other than the way she was flooding his senses. All he could taste, touch and smell was her, but it wasn't enough to satisfy him. While he knew that he should have been a gentleman who took her back to the party for a good time, before tucking her in and holding her for the rest of the night, that was not quite what he was thinking.
Nor did it appear to be what she was thinking.
Will broke away from her for a minute to look down the hall and see where exactly they'd ended up. Luckily for the two of them, there were countless rooms on either side of the Hall, but even so, they'd chosen the corridor where their room was which he felt far more comfortable with. He kissed her again, while pulling her down the hall based on memory rather than sight. Once he figured they were in the right vicinity, he had her pinned against their door and was a little bit more urgent with his lips against her lips, her jaw and her neck. "All you have to do is say no, Angel," He whispered against her skin before he opened the door to their room.
At least he was used to sleeping beside her by this point, that part would be nothing out of the norm. The rest of it...well, it would appear as though he was going to be winging it and hoping for the best.

She was relieved when Will caught on to what she wanted and as they walked down the hall, her heart beat quickened. Everything about her seemed to come alive.
Gasping when she was shoved against the door, her lips parted before she returned his kiss tenfold. There was no question where her head was and when he spoke, Cassidy didn't have to answer.
She locked the door and pulled Will in further, tugging his jacket off his shoulder and stepping out of her shoes. She pushed herself up and kissed Will, guiding him backwards to the bed, her fingers deftly unbuttoning his shirt.

The Monster
Everything I touch isn't dark enough
All Will could think about was how much he hoped that nobody noticed their absence. James would have a field day with the information. Miles and Charlotte would probably be grossed out because it was him that Cassidy ended up with. Eva, well, he didn't quite want to consider his grandmother's reaction to the absence because he knew that James would likely just make it worse. His uncle was such an ass. But Will couldn't find it anywhere inside him to regret what had happened.
His fingers were lightly tracing patterns on her bare shoulder while he thought. It hadn't been bad, not as bad as he expected anyway and he hadn't even expected it to be bad because of her. Being nearly thirty and a virgin, well, he just didn't think he'd do it right. Gabriel had been telling him for years that he should have just gotten it over with, but Will was sort of glad that he waited. It made it a little more profound because she was going to be the only girl he'd ever slept with for the rest of his life, well, as long as he could help it. Gabe couldn't top that level of commitment, not that he was sure his friend even wanted to. But Will was whole-heartedly hers.
He looked down at her, "Are you okay? Do you need anything?"

Basking in the afterglow, Cassidy closed her eyes and let the feeling wash over her. She had to bite down on her lips to stop from smiling too wide. It hadn't been bad. She thought it would be. They were both inexperienced but in the end, it didn't seem to matter. They were in tune with each other and Will had been so...gentle. A blush crept up her cheeks. If she were being honest, she wanted him again.
When she heard his voice, she finally smiled and shook her head, turning to him and pressing her lips against his collarbone. She slipped closer and wrapped one hand around his waist. "I'm good. A little thirsty, but good." She whispered. "You?"

The Monster

Will kept running his fingers through her hair, taking comfort in the gesture itself. She was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen and it never stopped surprising him. He felt the way her cheeks warmed against his skin and he pressed his lips to her forehead when she curled up closer to him, her arm draped around his waist. He gave a small nod and smiled, he was a little better than good, but he wasn't going to say that out loud. He took a deep breath and clicked his tongue.
"You realize we can't actually stay in bed, right?" He laughed. There was still a party in full swing and he was one of the main guests that someone would notice missing. Eva had probably already sent James to go looking for him. She was so engulfed by keeping the family close, he wondered how they even managed to slip away. Perhaps she was busier with the twins since they hadn't been around quite as much the last few years. He could only hope.
Will kissed her head again and sighed, "We can take care of your thirst problem if we go back. We've got all night, Angel."

Guess I'm a bad liar
Cassidy groaned slightly as she buried her face in his neck. "Nooo." She drawled before laughing and pulling away to place a kiss against his jaw. "I don't want to go." She said with a small giggle.
She sighed when she heard the finality in his tone before she rolled on to her back and took a deep breath. The promise of the rest of the night brought a smile to her face and she nodded.
"I think I should shower first." She said, pursing her lips slightly to stop the laughter from coming out. She slipped out of bed and rushed to the toilet before Will coudl protest. People can wait. She did not want to come out of the room smelling like what they did.
After taking a quick shower, she came out with her towel and looked for her dress. Spotting it near the bed, she grabbed it and went to the closet to dress. Humming softly, she looked at the mirror in the closet as she pulled the dress on. She was all smiles.

The Monster
Everything I touch isn't dark enough
His lips twitched when she scurried off towards the bathroom. While she was worried about her appearance and perhaps the smell, he couldn't quite find it in him to care. He rolled out of the bed and started gathering his articles of clothing, noting that he had a lot more to put on than she did. Not that he'd minded in the moment, one zip and he had her practically naked. The grin that came with his thoughts made him slightly unsettled, but he couldn't help it.
Will pulled on his boxers and his dress pants, situating his belt when she came out. His eyes drifted up and he watched her look around for her dress. When she headed back towards the closet to get dressed, his eyebrows pulled together and he shrugged on his dress shirt before following her. Leaning against the doorway, he fastened the buttons on his shirt slowly as he watched her pull her dress up over her curves. After a moment, he couldn't stand it anymore and he strode up behind her.
He leaned down and put his lips to her ear, "I like the smile, but I'm certain you're going to make what just happened a little obvious, Angel." Will pressed his lips to her temple and stroked his fingers down her arm, "You look beautiful though."

She heard him walk up to her and the happy smile she had turned into a smirk. She had never been shy of her body and honestly, she had all the rights to be so. Will watching her made her feel even more comfortable with the way she looked. She took her time with pulling the dress up and leaned back when he finally stood behind her.
The smirk deepened at his words and she turned a little to capture his lips with hers, one hand moving up to lock around the back of his neck. She bit his lower lip briefly before letting go and turning in his arms.
"Help zip me up." She said, guiding his hand to the small of her back where the zip was. She kept a close eye on his face to watch his expression. She used her free hand to push all her hair to one side so it didn't snag on the zipper as it came up.
Exposing her neck oh so subtly, Cassidy looked at Will with a knowing grin.

The Monster

His eyes narrowed at the way she smirked and he breathed her in as she leaned against him. The physical contact was comforting and he smiled against her lips when she turned to face him. When she pulled back after her love bite, he brushed his fingers through her hair gently.
Her hand moved his to her lower back and he smirked at the request, or rather, the demand. He glided the zipper up, his fingers tracing along her spine until it stopped. Will slid his fingers back down her side while his lips pressed against her shoulder and moved up her neck to her jaw. "You know, it isn't fair when you tempt me." His arms wrapped securely around her waist and he pulled her closer against him. "This is about to be the longest end to a party that I've ever known," He groaned against her skin.
With a deep breath and a long sigh, he pulled back and folded his arms across his chest, "I should let you finish getting ready."

Guess I'm a bad liar
She shivered as Will's fingers slid up her back, goosebumps raising up and down her arm. When his hands moved down her side with his lips pressed against her shoulder, she closed her eyes and didn't stop the chuckle bubbling from her throat.
"Likewise," her eyes opened and she turned when he pulled back. "I'm finished. That bun your grandmother's hairdresser put my hair in took five hours to do up. I'm just keeping my hair down like this." She ran her fingers through her thick, wavy tresses as she approached him, placing her hands on his chest before jumping up to peck him on the lips.
She sidestepped him and went over to where she had kicked her shoes off, slipping into them and moving to the door. "How long do we still have at the party?" She asked before throwing the door open.
