What's Your Curse?

A thousand stories fractured by a pair of curses. One single moment will
change them all forever, in ways that could never be foreseen, even by
those who cast them.

In a dark forest, on a stormy night, an enchantress begs to be let in from
the cold, but is turned away by the thoughtless prince of a royal family. As
she casts away her cowl to reveal herself, he recognizes her beauty and
begs forgiveness, but it is too late. Magic flies from her hands and surrounds
them, changing them in unspeakable ways.

At the very same moment, far away in another kingdom, a very different,
but no less powerful sorceress is casting a curse of her own. It is a curse
born from revenge and jealousy, with sinister intent. A couple, lost in their
love, becomes lost in a new world, one they could never have imagined,
and without any knowledge of their former lives.

As the two spells converge at the borders of the Kingdoms, something
unexpected happens. Instead of dissipating, or repelling each other, they
converge, strengthening in to a maelstrom of disaster. The denizens of both
Kingdoms could feel themselves being ripped apart mentally, and as the dust
settled, it became clear something was very wrong.

Every member of the five Kingdoms was subjected to both curses. In their
homeland, they are cursed individually, doomed to a life of suffering unless
they can find a way to break it. In the modern world, a parallel universe of sorts,
they wake up completely unawares, in a city they're certain they've lived in
their whole life, with no desire to leave, and no magic to speak of. Except a
single mirror, locked away in an unknown place, by an unknown entity. Perhaps
it is the key. Each entity is unaware of their counterpart, but a strange force
connects them still.

This is 'What's Your Curse?', an advanced, literate roleplay set in both modern
and fairytale worlds. A pair of curses has combined, leaving our characters in
complete disarray. As they struggle to find themselves in both worlds, evil forces
work to keep them unaware that anything is wrong. Will they ever break their
bonds and reunite, not only with their loved ones, but with themselves?
