Bailey smiled, she did know how he liked his hair. And she knew the way she liked it. She was just glad that he trusted her enough not to do anything wrong. His lips pressed to her forehead and she could feel her legs starting to feel wobbly. She was definitely keeping a tab on where he'd kissed her so far, still waiting for him to just man up and kiss her on the lips already!
Her eyes followed him out of the room and she went to grab her scissor kit from where she'd left it. With the area set up, she dug around for the pair of scissors she needed and got out the razor that would trim up the sides. Bailey bit down on her lip and focused on her task at hand. His words made her smile, despite her focus, "Well I'm hoping that's a good thing. I like to think I don't butcher it too much." She grinned and started trimming away at his hair, working her fingers through it to make sure the length was even throughout.
She found it to be more of a muscle memory thing than she expected and she was done swiftly. "I think I managed to keep most of the hair off of you, but the razor left a bit on your neck that I can't get off," She laughed and patted his cheek. "But you're all done."

"I've pretty much had the same haircut my whole adult life so yeah, you're good." He reached back to pat her thigh affectionately. She worked in silence and he simply enjoyed her fingers in his hair. He almost nodded off once or twice but kept vigilant for the most part.
Once she was done, he hopped off the stool and sent it back to where he had gotten it, careful not kick up too much of his hair off the newspaper in the process. He caught his reflection off the stove top and grinned. "Definitely the way I like it." He nodded before turning to Bailey with a sheepish grin. "Mind washing my hair too? If it's too much to ask, you don't have to but...I like having your fingers in my hair too much."

His request, though maybe a little intimate, didn't bother her any. It was the most normal she'd felt in the last ten years. Not because she was doing housewife things, although that was her normal, but because she was doing them for Gabriel. They'd practically lived together, only switching off between apartments depending on schedules. And Will. The brief memory of the surly fellow Brit made her grin and she realized she hadn't answered yet, "Oh, uh, yeah. No, it's fine. I totally don't mind." Maybe she sounded a little too into it.
Bailey chewed on her lip and glanced down at her feet briefly, "Uh, where at? Kitchen sink, or uh, I dunno this apartment that well." It wasn't like she could take him into the shower and do it, that would have been way too forward. Plus, she wasn't sure she was quite there yet.

His request hadn't been rejected. Things were definitely looking up. He knew he had to be pushing it and one wrong move could set them back ten years. Again. But still, Bailey was still being accommodating and unsurprisingly Gabriel was going to take advantage of it until he couldn't.
"The kitchen sink is fine. I'm not doing any cooking there any time soon anyway so like...that doesn't matter." He shrugged before holding a finger up and disappearing into the en suite bathroom in his room to get his shampoo.
Bailey wasn't the only one who was a little too into it.
After grabbing the towel hanging by his door, he walked over to Bailey and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, squeezing lightly before guiding her to the kitchen sink. He took another stool and placed it in front of the sink and handed Bailey the shampoo. "Go crazy." He grinned.

Once he had everything situated, Bailey could feel her palms starting to get a little clammy. She supposed she was just glad that he wouldn't be able to notice since her hands were about to be soaped up. She couldn't figure out why she was so nervous about washing his hair. It was something she'd done countless times, and something he'd done to her back when they were together. But that was the problem, she had been eighteen years old when he left and now she was almost thirty and still single, seemingly waiting for this day to happen.
She tested the water with her hand and once it was warm enough she began wetting his freshly cut hair. Her hand circled the back of his neck to rinse off any hair that had clung to the skin. Her fingers massaged his temples and worked their way back and forth with the shampoo sudsing up. After a few passes, she rinsed through it and turned the water off. Bailey brushed her thumb across his forehead and smiled down at him, "Okay, love, you're all done." She grabbed the towel that she'd set aside and draped it over his face with a laugh before scooting out of his reach.
Bailey leaned back against the counter and folded her arms around herself, the awkwardness starting to settle over her again.

While she washed his hair, this time, he really did nod off for a while. It felt like it had when they were younger and it was good.
Hearing her use the endearment made him smile and he was glad the towel was on his face because it was much too wide to show her. He straightened up and ran the towel over his hair with a chuckle.
He draped the towel over his shoulder and watched Bailey for a moment before reaching out to tug at her top. "C'mere, Diz." He said gently, smiling up at her warmly.

Bailey was hesitant when he tugged at her, but the smile on his face melted her hesitation and she let him pull her closer. Her eyes avoided his for as long as she could tolerate before she glanced at him and narrowed her eyes with a playful smile, "Whattaya want, Ducky?"
She could only really say what she wanted and it wasn't very helpful for their situation. It didn't change the fact that she was dying for them to pick up right where they'd left off. Bailey hadn't changed all that much, other than finishing school and becoming a nurse, but that had always been her plan. She still lived in the same place, wore the same clothes and loved him just the same as when he'd left. Her anger that she'd held onto had dissipated the first moment he said her name. Scratch that, the first moment he spoke to her.
Bailey reached out for his hand and her eyes dropped to the way his hands always made hers look so tiny. There was another thing that remained unchanged between them.

He rested his hands on her hips and looked up at her adoringly. "Nothing...it just feels odd with you too far away from me now." He admitted. She could reject him now and he would still be happy she stayed for as long as she did with him today.
When she took his hand, he slipped his fingers through hers and with the other free hand, pulled her so she sat on his lap. "I know I've been gone for way too long and I know coming back without any notice is really unfair of me but I'm so glad you're here right now, Bailey." He pulled her hand up to his lips and sighed.
"Will you stay over tonight? If it's not too much to ask..." he asked before raising his gaze up to meet hers.

He might as well have plucked his words from her mind because that was exactly how she felt. She adjusted herself on his lap and leaned her head against his chest. She could feel his voice vibrating through his body and his words weren't lost on her. He had been gone for way too long and it wasn't fair for him to come back into her life like nothing had happened. But she hadn't made any moves to stop it either. If she was being fair to herself, she never would have agreed to their plans or suggested them in the first place.
She didn't want to be fair to herself though. Despite how much she knew it was going to hurt if he left again, it was still worth what little time she'd get with him. It was only everything she'd been asking for since he left. Bailey looked up at him when he kissed her hand and she could have probably guessed what his next words would be if she tried.
With a frown, she pulled her eyes away from his and looked down. "You have to know that I'd do anything you asked me to. Ten years apart hasn't changed that," But she was certain it was going to wreck her. Biting down on her lip, she peeked back up at him, "Why isn't this harder to do? It's like you never left...."

Gabriel was ready to accept her refusal but what came seemed a little more painful to hear. Not because he didn't like it but because it seemed to pain her to admit it.
"You don't have to Bailey. I don't want you to feel like you do." He voiced out. Even though he was aching to sleep in her arms tonight, he would understand if she pulled away. He would have to.

Bailey placed her hands on either side of his face and leaned in closer, "When have I ever done anything because I felt like I had to?" It wasn't her way. She did a lot of things for him and while she found it hard to say no more often than not, she didn't feel like she had to say yes. Her thumbs stroked his cheekbones and she gave him a small smile.
Before she got in her own head, she leaned forward closer and pressed her lips to his briefly, "I want to stay with you. I don't want to leave. And I want to spend the rest of the night talking like we used to and catching up on everything that we missed. And I'm aware of my rambling right now, but I don't care because it's you and I don't have to worry about acting ridiculous." That was probably the best part about them, they got each other much better than anyone else.

Though she made a good point, Gabriel was still so unsure that this should be happening now. But as she placed her hands on his face, Gabriel felt soothed enough to crack a smile.
The smile widened when she kissed him on the lips and he looked her in the eyes as she spoke. He laughed when she rambled before he kissed her again, deepening it for a while before letting her go.
"Will is never letting me live it down that you kissed me first. So...don't tell him." He chuckled as he pulled her in a tight hug. "I'm so glad you're here." He sighed happily.

Her arms wrapped around his neck when he kissed her again and she smiled against his lips. It was easy. It was so easy. She didn't care that she had to be the one to kiss him, in fact, the more she thought about it, the more she was happy that she'd made the decision to do it. Her fingers stroked the back of his neck and she grinned again at the fact that she'd just cut the hair that would have been there otherwise.
"I can't imagine Will and I will be doing much talking, we haven't since you left," And she wasn't entirely sure that was a bad thing. She adored him, of course, but she knew that he was damaged goods and that he weighed down on Gabe. Of course, that had been ten years ago, she wasn't really sure now.
She tightened her arms around his neck and closed her eyes, "I'm glad I'm here, too, Ducky. And I'm glad I don't have to leave. And I'm also glad that I kissed you first because now I don't have to wait longer to do it again." Bailey giggled against his shoulder.

He gave a pained smile after Bailey's remark about Will but he was just a little too happy to really read too deep into what she said. But her next comment made him smile even wider before chuckling, pulling away a little to look at her.
"You wanna do it again?" He asked cheekily before pouting his lips.
Gabriel didn't remember the last time he was this happy. And he had had plenty of happy moments, despite the misery he felt not having Bailey around. Now that she was back in his life, there was nothing stopping him from being happy all the time.
Then again, Will wasn't around, which did make him sad. He needed to call his best friend soon.

He pouted his lips and she rolled her eyes. Bailey tapped his nose before she leaned in again and did kiss him. "I do, I can and I will," Because he hadn't stopped her and she wasn't about to stop herself. She felt like she'd been inflated, her chest felt tight and she was grinning like a smitten kitten. She felt like she was seventeen again, but in a less cheesy way than the movie.
Leaning back, she stroked her fingers along his jaw and she pursed her lips, "So since we're on the topic of my former favorite Brit, how's he been doing? And how'd he take you leaving?" She couldn't imagine he'd been very happy about it. Then again, she didn't think that he was very happy about much of anything. He'd always been rather pessimistic and moody. Even though she adored him in every single way. He had never been nasty to her, but she wondered if that was because Gabe threatened him over it.
"If you call him, you should tell him I said hi and that I miss my fellow Brit," She grinned.
