His explanation was what she'd sort of expected, but she was also a little surprised he'd been willing to tell her about it. Of course he'd already told her about his mother, but they were barely scratching the surface of getting to know each other. She was mostly surprised that he was willing to let her get to know him.
Adrian looked up at him when he asked if she was okay. It made her smile. He was being sweet still and she just wanted to take it all in before it changed. So far he'd given her no reason to think it could stay this way, except for the fact that he was supposed to be this notorious playboy who had no feelings for anyone or anything. She wrapped around his arm, keeping her hands in his and rested her cheek on his shoulder. "I'm just not used to this kinda stuff. It's all very fancy," And she didn't feel like the fancy type of girl, he'd see that when he was in her childhood home.
"How many girls have you brought on here? No judgment, I have no room to judge, I'm really just curious, I promise," She peeked up at him sheepishly.
Isn't she a dream come true?

Dylan chuckled at her response and leaned in a little when she wrapped her arm around his. "You're a model, Adrian...I'd think fancy was your middle name." He responded before the announcement for the flight crackled over the speakers.
Her question brought a small frown on to Dylan's face as he thought of the last person he brought on to the plane. It surprised him that the only person that had ever been on this plane that wasn't his family was an old friend he lost contact with years ago.
"None." He answered simply. "I only use this plane for myself or for my family."
It was odd that it didn't irk him as much talking about himself as he had thought. And the fact that Adrian was the only woman he had ever brought on to the plane was not lost on him. She was special and there was no way around it.
Sure, he could just say and think that this was Cassidy's doing but he was the one who offered first. And Adrian knew this. Somehow, in the past month, Adrian had the ball in her court the entire time. It was a harsh pill to swallow for Dylan.

When he pointed out that he was surprised she didn't do fancy, she bit her lip. "I can pretend to do fancy, but it isn't my comfort zone. It's far, far away from my comfort zone." She had grown up in a nice place, sure, but she'd grown up with a struggle for money because having a single parent who had given birth as young as her mother had, things didn't come easily.
She traced her finger up and down his arm as she waited for an answer to the second part of her question. Adrian wasn't sure what she expected his answer to be. She wondered if he would lie, but she couldn't place why he would. To hurt her, it wouldn't make sense for him to do that. To ease her wandering mind, well, he had to know that it wouldn't help. The answer he gave was far from her expectations because it meant that she was the only girl he'd ever taken with him anywhere in his own plane. For himself. For his family. She couldn't read into it, but she was. She had.
Adrian didn't make a big deal out of it, though she knew it was one for both of them. She just rested her cheek against his arm and nodded, her lips quirking up at the sides a little. "It's a very nice plane ya got here, Mr. Paige," She grinned when she looked up at him again.
Isn't she a dream come true?

There was more to what Adrian had responded with, Dylan realised, but what she did give him said a lot about the woman he was currently beginning to like. A lot. She was more than the bobblehead princess he had thought she was. That was a very weird revelation to come to at this moment. Where he was about to fly her on his family's private plane to see her mother.
He buckled up and told Adrian to do the same as the plane began to move. Her remark made the corner of his lips quirk up but he didn't say anything. He knew she was just trying to glaze over the fact that things had taken a sudden turn for the real and he wasn't about to make it awkward.
As the plane made its ascent, Dylan focused on his breathing. Even after the many times he had flown, take off really didn't sit well with the Paige heir.
When the seatbelt sign turned off, Dylan relaxed into his seat and unbuckled the seatbelt. "You want something to drink?" He asked as he took out two glasses and set it on top of his arm rest. He took the whiskey bottle out and held it up for Adrian, wondering if she wanted it or something else.

Adrian buckled up when the sign came on and she peeked out the window as they started to take off. She'd always loved flying. It was something she'd had to do many many times after she manifested, but even as a preteen, she'd enjoyed the experience. There was just something about the way her stomach seemed to float upwards during take off before settling that gave her a rush.
Her eyes shifted to him and she noticed that he didn't seem quite as excited about their take off as she was. She kept her hand on his, even after her attention turned back to the city disappearing beneath them. It never stopped impressing her, the way it looked below and the way the clouds seemed to just hover over everything.
Once the sign turned back off, Adrian released the buckle and twisted in her seat to face him. "Yes please!" Adrian wasn't picky about her alcohol, least of all when it was something strong. She arched an eyebrow and considered her question carefully before shrugging and asking it anyway, "Not a fan of flying?" Her mother had always been a nervous drinker on planes. She required a vodka cranberry or a glass of wine on every flight. It made her grin when she drew the comparison.

Pouring the whiskey into both glasses, he handed one to her and drank his in a single shot, wincing slightly at the burn. He poured another just to give himself something to do.
When the inevitable question came, Dylan chuckled and shook his head. "Flying's fine, take off? Not so much." Being vulnerable with Adrian seemed to be the only thing he was good at doing now. It was annoying and he wanted it to stop.
"You wanna watch a movie or something?" He asked as he reached over Adrian to pull out an attached tablet sized screen from the side of the seat. He took the opportunity to press a kiss on her lips before settling into his seat.

Adrian was not so quick to finish her drink, she sipped at it instead as she watched him. He seemed uneasy, or maybe she just wasn't used to seeing him outside like this. When he did answer her, she smiled. It was kind of cute that he was willing to admit it to her. They were approaching dangerous territory by practically cutting themselves open for each other to see. He'd opened up about his mother just as she opened up about hers, but neither of them had bothered to sew up the wounds and now they were just vulnerable.
The mentions of a movie brought a light to her eyes and her eyes followed him as he removed the screen from the seat. She definitely needed to get used to this. As he reached across her, she felt his lips brush against hers and she could have floated up out of her seat. This was the man she was taking to meet her mother.
Adrian leaned over and gave him a big kiss on the cheek before she adjusted herself to be comfortable while still being able to watch the screen and have some form of physical contact with him. "Whattaya have? I'm a little afraid to ask. I mean, movies are a big thing in my life," And she couldn't have the guy she was goo goo over having bad taste in movies.

Dylan wasn't even aware of the small smile on his lips when she kissed him on the cheek. Her question did bring him out of the daze he had been in as he sipped his drink.
"They have Netflix and Hulu on there. And they always load it up with all the newer releases. Take your pick."
Dylan wasn't really a movie buff. He liked them fine but not enough to gush over them. He liked TV series better. He could binge watch multiple seasons under a week.
"I usually just play games on this." He grinned before setting up the console and grabbing the controller from under the seat. "Wanna play Mario Kart?"

She was about to suggest a movie, although she couldn't decide which one. But as soon as he brought out the gaming console and uttered the words Mario Kart, she was sold. Adrian was not a gamer, not really, but she appreciated the mainstream games that were easy to get the hang of.
She couldn't keep the grin from her face when she shrugged, "Only if you don't mind being beat by a girl." She was ninety-nine percent sure that she could win against him. She'd even go so far as to make a bet on it. Although, she wondered if he would consider it. Adrian glanced up at him and smiled as innocently as she could, "Wanna bet on it?"

Turning to look at Adrian when she came up with a challenge, Dylan raised an eyebrow and smirked. He had grown up with the game, and much to his chagrin, the sad truth was sometimes games were the only thing that kept him company.
The challenge was absolutely accepted.
When a bet was mentioned, both his eyebrows were raised and his smirk turned into a grin.
"What do you wanna bet on?"

Adrian rested her chin on her hand and arched an eyebrow as she considered her options. She could be mean and have him do something embarrassing. She could be sweet and make it something simple. Or she could do what they both knew and make it a sexual wager. She leaned forward and reached up to cup his jaw, "If I win, I get a full body massage, head to toe, both sides once." Because she could use it, tension had invaded her body weeks ago and she couldn't get rid of it.
She leaned forward and pressed her lips to his, lingering for a bit before she sat back in her seat. "Name your terms, Dylan," Adrian grinned and tilted her head to the side. She was curious if she'd be able to guess it without him saying a word. Most guys always wanted the same thing if they were given the opportunity.

That she was willing to allow him full body access if she won didn't really seem like a loss to him. "What a crushing blow to my ego." He chuckled before reciprocating the kiss she gave, leaning in when she lingered.
At her words, Dylan leaned back and pondered over it. At this point, Dylan was certain that Adrian liked him enough that spending more time with him wasn't a chore. He could very well do the same thing she had and bet on something physical.
But his gut was telling him that this could be more. He may not like that she had more chips on him than he did on her, but at this rate, he was already throwing a lot of what he used to be out the window. He knew he had lost whatever leverage he had over her the moment he had to ask her to keep their relationship a secret from his sister.
"Give me a tour of Oceanside. The non-touristy parts."
It was such a lame bet but she had already taken the physical route and he didn't want to be predictable.

She definitely could admit that she didn't expect his answer. It was kind of adorable that he'd gone for something completely opposite of what she had. Adrian expected what most guys would have said. Sex. Or something close to it. But it kind of came as a comfort that he didn't expect anything from her. He had to know one way or another it was bound to happen though.
She bit her lower lip and sucked it in while she considered it. Adrianna smiled and nodded, "Sounds like a wonderful bet to me." It was inevitable that she leaned forward again and kissed him, she couldn't help herself. His lips were intoxicating and she took comfort in their warmth.
Once she pulled back she picked up her controller and did her best serious gamer face. Her eyebrows furrowed and she leaned forward, "Now that we've settled that, lets get this game going. Time for me to beat your ass at MarioKart." She glanced at him from the corner of her eye and she flashed a quick smile before her face settled back into serious mode.

That lip bite drew Dylan's dark brown eyes down to her lips and soon after, the kiss happened. He used his free hand to slide around her neck, pulling her close, his thumb rubbing her pulse lightly.
When she pulled away, he smiled lightly and turned his attention back to the screen, pulling up the main menu and choosing Mario Kart from the hundreds of other games on the console.
Dylan rolled his eyes at her challenge and went about choosing his character. "I'd like to see you try." He responded. He chose Rainbow Road because he wasn't messing about. Although, he could just very well let her beat him. It really wasn't a loss.

His choice, although difficult, was one that she happened to love. Adrian liked to believe that she was good at Mario Kart, but there were high pressure stakes. If she lost, well, it wasn't a real loss except in the fact that he could rub it in her face for however long they remained in each other's life. She wasn't about to give him bragging rights for that long.
The countdown started and she was quick on the button to take off. She maneuvered the course with some struggle in the beginning, but she was on top of it as the track continued. It was a nail biter, and Adrian was curious if he'd let her pull through with the win on purpose or if she actually beat him fairly. Either way, she wasn't going to complain, she did cheer though. Setting down the controller, she raised her arms in the air and did a little dance, "Ha! I told you. You underestimated my skills, but I totally won."
She twisted in her seat and folded her feet beneath her. She crossed her arms across her chest and leaned back with a smirk, "I win and I get bragging rights as well as a massage that I'll happily receive whenever."
